The Youth Digital Jobs program is a government-funded program that offers employment opportunities to youth job seekers looking for jobs in the IT industry and enables employers secure a pool of talented workers in the IT field.
The program provides support to small and medium-sized and mid-market companies that hire youth in IT-related positions over the course of 6 months (up to KRW 1.8 mil./month in labor costs and KRW 100,000/month in indirect labor expenses).
Small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-market companies that have five or more employees covered by employment insurance (Certain companies such as venture capitals, youth-founded companies, companies in prospective growth industries that have less than five employees are also eligible)
Employers must hire a youth worker in an IT position relevant to the business. The employment contract period shall be 3 months or longer (including permanent positions). The four major national insurances shall be covered. The employee shall have a compensation level above the minimum wage.
Up to KRW 1.8 mil./month (90% of the monthly salary) in labor costs and KRW 100,000/month in indirect labor expenses.
