Employment Support System
The Employment Support System is a uniquely Korean employment support program.
Its purpose is to provide thoroughly planned employment support to under-serviced groups including low-income job seekers, youth, females with discontinued careers, and middle-aged individuals, as well as services to support their livelihood.
The Employment Support System was introduced on Jan 1, 2021 as a secondary employment safety net to support job seekers in the blind spots of the employment insurance system. The System is operated in accordance with the ‘Act to Support Jobseeker Employment Promotion and Stability of Life, Act no. 18368.’
Employment support service (for all participants)
Psychological, vocational, career counseling to boost job seekers’ motivation
Various work experience programs including an array of vocational training programs, entrepreneurship support programs, etc.
Referrals to various employment/welfare programs to overcome barriers to employment
Successful Job Entry Allowance (depending on employment sustainment) for participants who successfully land a job (up to KRW 1.5 mil.)
Participants who are yet to land a job receive continuous services (e.g. providing participants with information on job openings, etc.) in the form of follow-up management
